Our new BAE Jetstream J41 aircraft touches down in Port Macquarie.
The J41 Aircraft is a significant step up for Brindabella’s fleet. It has the capacity to carry 30 passengers and 3 crew members including a flight attendant.
With a cruise speed of 540km/hour, the J41 is the fastest and by far the most fuel efficient aircraft in its class. The highly efficient twin engine turboprop offers the optimum balance of performance, comfort and allows for larger luggage allowances. The world’s largest operator of the J41 is Eastern Airways (UK) that was named the 2007 European Airline of the year.
The new fleet arrived from Nashville, Tennessee USA in late 2007. The first J41 commenced flying on the Canberra - Newcastle route early April, with the second to commence flying from Coffs Harbour to Brisbane next week.
The growing regional airline currently services Albury, Canberra, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane. With the introduction of the J41, the airline now has the capacity to carry an extra 9000 passengers annually. The local airline is expected to carry over 60 000 passengers in 2008.
