The J41 Aircraft is a significant step up for Brindabella’s fleet. The J41 has the capacity to carry 30 passengers, 3 crew members including a flight attendant.

With a cruise speed of 540km/hour the J41 is the fastest and by far the most fuel efficient aircraft, burning 30% less fuel than the next most economical aircraft of its class. The highly efficient twin engine turboprop offers the optimum balance of performance, comfort and allows for larger luggage allowances. The world’s largest operator of the J41 is Eastern Airways (UK) that was named the 2008 European Airline of the year.

The new fleet arrived from Nashville, Tennessee in the USA late 2007. The first J41 commenced flying on the Canberra – Newcastle route last week, with the second to commence flying from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour and Brisbane in late May 2008.

Brindabella Airlines operate out of Canberra International Airport and currently are servicing Albury, Canberra, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane. With the introduction of the J41, the regional airline now has the capacity to carry an extra 9000 passengers annually. The local airline is expected to reach over 60 000 passengers in 2008.
