Brindabella Airlines

Regional Airline, Brindabella Airlines announced today the introduction of a direct air service between Tamworth and Brisbane.

Flights will commence 11 May 2009 (subject to regulatory approval) with two direct services per day, Monday – Friday. With a flight time of just 70 minutes this will allow passengers a full business day in Brisbane, before returning back to Tamworth on the afternoon service.

Making the announcement Mr Boyd, CEO Brindabella Airlines said, An increase in the Brindabella Airlines network is an extremely exciting development in our business strategy. It has been a pleasure to work with the staff at Tamworth Council in developing plans to introduce the service. In difficult economic times we see the region holding it's own, with business diversity of the agriculture and mining industry, giving us the confidence to commence the route.

In response Tamworth Regional Council mayor James Treloar has welcomed the news of Brindabella's new services between Tamworth and Brisbane as a great new civic partnership that will boost key business markets for both.

Brindabella's arrival in Tamworth gives the city and the wider region a valuable new travel link. More importantly the company has a flight timetable that is appealing for business travel because it allows for passengers to get to and from Tamworth and Brisbane and have the day to conduct their business. That's tremendously important for potential growth and economic development, Councillor Treloar said.

Flights will depart Tamworth Monday – Friday at 0815 and 1900, and departing Brisbane 0630 and 1715. Saturday and Sunday flights will commence in late May. Tickets are on sale now by phoning 1300 66 88 24 or visiting www.brindabellaairlines.com.au.
