Brindabella Airlines currently flies to a number of important regional centres from bases in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. Destinations include Cobar, Tamworth, Albury, Newcastle, Moree and Coffs Harbour.

CEO of Brindabella, Jeff Boyd, said the airline is very pleased to be able to re-introduce direct Brisbane services to the Armidale community. We are extremely pleased to be able to provide these services between Brisbane and Armidale and we hope the Armidale community will get behind it and support it. It has already been a great help that the council has been very supportive and a pleasure to deal with.

In the 21st century regional communities need access to first class services if they are to prosper, and we are serious about providing safe and reliable air services to these communities Jeff Boyd said. We have received a particularly warm and enthusiastic response from the people in Armidale that we have spoken to, and whilst the service will initially be one flight per day during week days, we hope to expand that quickly to two flights per day and to weekends as the passenger numbers grow.

Armidale Dumaresq Mayor, Peter Ducat, said the council and the community were very pleased to welcome Brindabella Airlines. This will enhance Armidale's reputation as a great place to live, create better travel connections for families, and will strengthen business, tourism and leisure opportunities in the region said Mayor Ducat.

Tickets are expected to go on sale within the next week and the airline and the council are planning a joint launch to welcome the new service when it starts.
